MULTIPAN
The MULTI-PAN project is focused on the development of new multifunctional Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester panels that increase the added value of the products marketed by TECNOVE in its range of vehicles, containers and modular constructions.
This project is the result of several years of research and development projects carried out by TECNOVE on the development of new resin formulations for its panels and by IK4-TEKNIKER on new functional additives capable of providing the resins with new properties. Both entities are joining forces to develop a resin formulation efforts to develop a polyester resin formulation with thermal and photocatalytic capabilities, suitable for use in the target application and to obtain a technology demonstrator panel…
The Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester panels developed in this project will be endowed with photocatalytic and IR reflection capabilities as follows:
- IR reflective capacity, which will reduce the heating experienced by the panels during their useful life once installed in vehicles, containers or modular constructions, minimising air conditioning and energy consumption.
- Photocatalytic capacity, which will allow the panel to reduce and decompose pollutants in the surrounding air, making them harmless; in other words, it will reduce the environmental impact caused by your vehicles during their useful life, as well as the rest of your products during road transport. The photocatalytic capacity of the surfaces can provide the panels with antibacterial and self-cleaning properties.
- Durability of the solution developed, guaranteeing its functionality during the product’s lifetime and / or during the usual treatments carried out: cleaning and installation of equipment, mainly.
The work plan for this project covers the years 2018 – 2020, and includes development work tasks for the new product in its different facets, as well as pilot implementations.
This project, carried out at TECNOVE’s facilities in Herencia, has been financed by the Centre for Technological and Industrial Development (CDTI), an agency of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). The execution and development of MULTI-PAN results in a total budget of 378,424.65 €.
